Thanks for Putting Your Back to Fight for Sports Sector, UUSFA Lauds Deputy Speaker of Parliament With a Fatty He Goat
Since Uganda started winning medals in the Tokyo2020 Olympic Games which are just climaxed in Japan, the sports franiternity and the nation at large boosted the debate of increasing the sports budget and it moved to the floor of Parliament.
In their previous Parliamentary sessions the different members of Parliament have been hitting on the poor state of Sports sector even when the athletes tried very much to lift the Uganda flag high.
But on Tuesday, 17th August, the debate hit the climax and in that session, the Deputy Speaker of Parliament Rt. Hon. Anita Amongi picked interest in the matter and directed the concerned Committees to present a comprehensive revised sports sector budget to Parliament with in 30 days starting 18th August 2021.

The speaker also directed The state Minister for Sports Hon. Hamson Obua to present a list of 80 cooperate companies that can attribute to sports development in Uganda.
She also asked that the new sports policy and the amendments be tabled to Parliament for debate.
Basing on that achievement the sports sector has reached, the interim leaders of the Union of Uganda Sports Federations and Associations came out to give a vote of thanks to Rt. Hon. Deputy Speaker Hon. Anita Amongi and State Minister for Sports Hon. Hamson Obua with special gives.
The Association that came into existence in 2020 with an idea of Speaking for their own by their own, have gifted the RT. Hon. Anita Amongi with a fatty He Goat and a Cock to State Minister for Sports Hon. Hamson Obua.
“We are extremely pleased that the Parliament has seen the need to increase the funding towards sports and has gone ahead to make resolutions and directives on this matter. This is the first time that such comprehensive debate and focus has been placed on our sector with practical- actionable time resolutions.
For we sincerely thank Hon. Among and wish to appreciate her in a special wat for this excellent development.
We hereby give her a special gift (a Goat called Kimeeme) on behalf of all sports Federations and Associations of Uganda” Interim Chairman, UUSFA Moses Muhangi revealed in a press conference held at Route256 Lugogo.
The Association also thanked the great effort put in by the National of Sports General Secretary, Dr. Patrick Bernard Ogwel, Ministry of Education and Sports, Eng Moses Magogo and asked them to keep on push together as sports family.
