Teachers in Isingiro Appreciate UPDF Ongoing Projects in the District

Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) has been applauded for constructing two classroom blocks at Mbaare Primary School in Isingiro North.
As the request of a King is a command, the president of the republic of Uganda General Yoweri Museven tasked the UPDF engeneering Brigade to start putting there professionalism into practice and hence they have done it well and in time.
A number of people in Uganda who have benefited in the project and a mong the projects that were signed are now 98% complete.
The headmaster of the school Mr. Tumwesigye Godfrey led the teachers as they showed their appreciation towards UPDF.
Mr.Tumwesigye explained that the school had three blocks which were not enough to accommodate the pupils.
“We have over 450 pupils, part of which study under tree shades. This donation is of great importance to the school,” he noted.
He further thanked the army leadership for training able and professional engineers who have worked tirelessly to complete the building within time.
“We now have assurance that our pupils are saved from sunshine and rain, we believe the availability of this structure will impact positively on their performance,” Tumwesigye observed.
The above remarks were made when the UPDF Director Human Rights and Coordinator of Army Week activities in Isingiro district Col Deo Karikona was on a readiness tour of UPDF projects around the district.
“Today I am moving around Isingiro to supervise and monitor the performance of our construction team, to check the readiness of the buildings and other structures. I’m glad to observe that the overall performance is at 95%, most of the buildings are at the finishing phase,” Col Karikona said.
The ongoing symbolic UPDF activities in Isingiro district include: free dental and eye check ups, free treatment of malaria, diabetes, typhoid, and offering free health education about maternal health, among others.
UPDF Engineers are also constructing 02 classroom blocks at Mpoma Primary School in Ruborogota, and monuments at Kikagati boarder and Kigarara at Kyeirumba .
