El Cambio Academy defeated Kick It Soccer Academy in the 2023 UYFA Chenga National Championship Girls category final match on Saturday, 20th January 2024, winning the championship for the first time at Mbarara High School
Exciting youngster, Immaculate Acheng scored the lone goal in the second half of the game to separate the two sides.
El cambio Academy coach, Ronald Bisaso was thankful to the organisers, fellow teammates and players for the performance displayed on the field of play.

“I thank the organisers (Uganda Youth Football Associations) for staging this event because it has been a bigger opportunity for our boys and girls since it has given us good competition.”
“Today, we have emerged the winners in the Girls category, but it has really been a good competition ever since we started.”
“Our boys lost to Sparta 09 in the quarter finals, and that meant our only chance now remained in the Girls category. We worked hard in support of the boys’ team, and finally, the success is ours.”
Kick It Soccer Academy Founder and head coach, Alex Kalema was impressed by the performance though results didnt their side

“We have not done well as in the result, but on the side of the game, we have performed because we lost in the last minutes. We lacked experience since it was our first time in the championship. “
“We got a shock in the semi-finals when our captain got a serious injury, but thanks, the girls pit up a good fight, and as the management, we are proud of their performance and most importantly they displayed exactly what we plan to play”.
:These young girls who are still learning, and when we go back, we will reorganize them for other tournaments ahead. “

El Cambio Academy eliminated Miracle Youth Soccer Academy in the semi finals by 2-0 score line well as Kick It Soccer Academy needed penalty shoots (4-3) to eject Garuga Soccer Academy following a goalless draw in normal time.
UYFA awarded individual winners, and here, Babirye Deborah and Patricia Tendo from Kick It Soccer Academy were the best goalkeeper and top scorer, respectively. Tendo scored five (5) goals from five games she played.

Immaculate Acheng from El Cambio was voted the most valuable player of the tournament in the Girls category.
Elsewhere, in the Boys category, Sparta 09 defended their throne, defeating Summer Kids Soccer Academy from Busia by 7-6 in the penalty shoots after the game had ended in a barren draw.
Seven (7) Girls Teams turned for the national championship upon invitation while Twenty four (24) academies qualified for the Boys category.
UYFA Chenga National Championship kicked off on Monday, 15th January 2024 and climaxed on Saturday, 20th, January at Mbarara High School
