A bad start for Uganda Netball National team, the She Cranes, fell to the Netball Nations Cup hosts, England in the last fixture of the day one at Ovo Arena Wembley.

England Roses continued with their dominance against the She Cranes of Uganda, beating with a difference of six goals following a full-time score line of 62-56 at Ovo Arena. 

England Roses won the first quarter 18-15 but Uganda bounced back stronger in second quarter, maintaining their 15 goal score line, forced England to score two goals less compared to their first quarter performance, at the half time brea it was 34-30 in favor of England Roses. 

Uganda reduced the four goals margin to one in third quarter, In this quarter, Kadondi Falidah looked very exceptional, she made incredible steals and the notable one came 20 seconds to the end of third quarter.

Uganda went in last quarter with their heads high with a hope of turning the tables upside down, the rewrite history but made minor errors that gave England momentum to stretch the lead. 

She Cranes maintained the 15 goals scoring for three quarters but in last quarter, the scored only 11 against the 16 England netted. [18-15,14-15,12-15,16-11].

Despite the loss, She Cranes reduced the margin by seven goals compared the the way they last on 9th October 2022, the two sides last met in Vitality test series held at Cooper Box Arena. That year’s score line was 64-51 in favor of England.

In other results, Australia beat New Zealand, 63-50, it was the day’s opening fixture.

Uganda will return to action tomorrow, Sunday playing the world’s number three New Zealand Ferns at 5PM, Uganda Time.
