Kampala: The former Presidential candidate on National Unity Platform ticket, Hon. Robert Kyagulanyi Sentamu aka Bobi Wine continued to demand answers for the missing party supporters in his petition to the Chief of Defense Forces Gen. David Muhoozi and Defense Minister Adolf Mwesigye.
According to Bobi’s petition of March 16, 2021, Security organs especially the Army have been abducting NUP supporters without being given reasons for their abductions.
“All those who have so far surfaced, say that they have been held at Makindye, Kyengera and Kasajjagirwa Military centres with marks of torture on their bodies which were inflicted by security personals while in detention. But Mr. Museveni recently said that our missing supporters are in custody of special forces command” stated Kyagulanyi in his petition. 
Bobi wine has gone ahead to ask that those still under military detention be released and given justice.
“We further demand that there’s justice for those who have been tortured and the must be compensated and the Army must stop trying civilians in the general court martial.” he says.
It should be remembered that the government through the Ministry of Internal affairs recently released a list of people they said have been missing and are in detention and the list was of 117. However, the opposition dismissed it for they claim that the number is bigger than that and Kyagulanyi later presented a list of 423 supporters missing which he suspects to be with security operatives.
“The talk of disappearance should be ignored because it can’t happen under the NRM. No one is missing, they’re in hands if security for various charges”. Museveni made these remarks earlier this year following claims of missing people.
