Eighteen-year-old Agnes Nabukenya’s remarkable run continued on Tuesday after she was named the Fortebet Real Stars Footballer of the Month for August, adding another individual accolade to a memorable campaign.
Nabukenya, who was named the Most Valuable Player of the 2026 CAF Women’s Champions League CECAFA Zonal Qualifiers, received her award at Naijing Hotel in Kololo on Tuesday.
The Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC Midfielder was instrumental in her side’s triumph at the CECAFA qualifiers in Rwanda, scoring four goals in four matches, including the decisive goal in the final as Kawempe Muslim defeated Kenya Police Bullets 1-0 after extra time.
Her performances saw her beat competition from KCCA FC’s Said Mayanja and NEC FC’s Richard Basangwa to claim the August award.

“I am happy that I have won. Among those who played better last month, I was chosen as the best. I am also happy that we won the CECAFA championship,” Nabukenya said.
“It was endurance, hard work and teamwork that helped us win. About the Champions League, our aim is to win and compete. We are not going there for a visit but to compete and to win, just like we went to Rwanda to win, and we did.”
Nabukenya’s award comes after a standout year in which she has established herself as one of the key young players at Kawempe Muslim.
Since joining the club in 2022, the 18-year-old has consistently impressed for both Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC and the school team, and her latest individual recognition comes at a time when attention is increasingly turning to the club’s preparations for the CAF Women’s Champions League final tournament.
The August Fortebet Real Stars Awards also recognised outstanding performers from other sports.

UCU Lady Canons basketball player Matrina Anyango was named the women’s basketball winner after playing a key role in helping her side win the 2026 Women’s Basketball League title.
In the men’s category, Nam Blazers’ Fataki Nyembo Franck took the award.
Real Stars also honoured Kawempe Muslim SS and Ladies FC head coach Ayub Khalifa Kiyingi with a Lifetime Achievement Award for his contribution to Ugandan sport.
Kiyingi becomes the latest recipient of the honour, following former FIFA referee Catherine Adipo, who won the award in the previous edition.
