Sponsorship: betPawa, Futsal Enter in Partnership, Locker Room Bonus is an X Factor in Marriage
The Futsal Association of Uganda and betPawa Uganda enter into a one year partnership and the betting company will be putting money in the Association’s topflight league.
The big news for the booming indoor football item was announced today, Friday 17th November 2023 at Serena Hotel Kampala.
This partnership is under the umbrella deal, Federation of Uganda Football Association [FUFA] signed with this company in September this year and it’s with 1.18bn for a period of one year. This deal was encompassing FUFA drum, FUFA Big League and Futsal Super League.
Speaking at the launch at Serena Hotel, Ivy Igunduura the Company’s Country director revealed that this partnership is in place to create equal opportunities in football industry in Uganda.
“As Uganda’s official football partner ,our partnership with the Federation is focused on creating equal opportunities for both the well established leagues and the nascent ones, hence our being here today to unveil our plans for Futsal,” Igunduura said.
“We want to work closely with the Futsal community in Uganda, which includes fans and players, among others, to develop initiatives that promote the growth and development of this game in the country. One of the major positives from our engagement will be a direct benefit to the players through the betpawa Locker Room Bonus.” she added.
The unique thing in this partnership is the locker room bonus that will see the winning team players walking away with 150000/- every after a match and they will be receiving this instant cash on their phones before leaving the playground.
“The betPawa Locker Room Bonus (LRB) is a cash token (mobile money payment) given to players of the winning team who make the squad list per match. It is sent to their phones after every match they win and before they leave the stadium.”
Under the umbrella deal signed between betPawa and FUFA in September, 25% of the value of the UGX1.18Bilion will go towards the betPawa Locker Room Bonus.
All players picked for the matchday squad will be paid UGX150,000 each for every fixture their team wins during the season.” She gave the exciting news to players.
The Association’s chairperson, Hamza JJunju revealed that this is a milestone for the game that is just growing and the element of Locker Room Bonus will give much competition to the team in the league which the association needs most.
The other benefits being introduced to the betPawa Futsal League include awards for most valuable player of
the season, best goalkeeper, coach, player of the season, most assists, and young player of the season.
During the partnership kick-off event held today, betPawa also gave kits to all 16 participating teams in the league.
The league will will be held till mid next year at Old Kampala Indoor Arena, it’s fixtures will be out on Monday next week according to FAU chairperson.
