Pilsner Monthly Awards: Ssenyondo, Kitata Were Untouchables in Months of September, October

Kitara FC’s Brian Ssenyondo and Alex Kitata of BUL have won the Pilsner Coach and Player of the Month of September/October awards respectively.

The pair picked their plaques and cash at Kati Kati Restaurant in Kampala on Wednesday evening.

Ssenyondo beat off competition from coach Abbey Kikomeko of BUL and NEC’s Hussein Mbalangu.

For the players, Kitata prevailed over Maroons striker Fred Amaku and Kitara’s Denis Omedi. All three scored as many goals in the said months but Kitata also had two assists.

Both Ssenyondo’s Kitara and Kikomeko’s BUL won all their opening five StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) matches to top standings on 15 points apiece, then.

But Kitara had a better goal difference. Mbalangu’s NEC won four out of their five opening matches.

“….this is my 5th year in the league as a coach and there is no better way to be striking your 5th year and win such an award, shows that we have done some work, I want to thank UPL together with their partner Pilsner for this incredible event, it’s always good to be applauded as an athlete, whether a player or coach, it’s so encouraging and motivating, so am very glad. But I am the face Kitara FC but it’s a work done by a lot of people, so allow me thank them from the cooks to the President.” Says Brian Ssenyondo.

“I dedicate this award to Kitara FC president, Mr. Kasozi DEO, this man as done everything to see that we are where you see us now.”
