Netball: INF Release World Rankings, Uganda Is Unmoved

The body that governs the sport of netball worldwide, the International Netball Federation has released the current world rankings as of March 31, 2021.

She Cranes did not change their position from seventh they have acquired at least three years back but a double loss against South Africa in the just concluded Tri-Nation test series held in Cape Town between 24th and 31st March made Uganda to drop in ratings by a point.

The Peace Proscovia captained side dropped from 123 to 122 points and they are only eight points above 8th Placed Scotland who has 114 points.

According to rankings, the top 22 nations did not change positions compared to previous rankings and Australia still top the chart with 199 points followed by New Zealand in second position, England, Jamaica and South Africa occupy the third, fourth and five positions respectively. 

The latest World Rankings reflect matches played between the 29th of November 2020 and 31st of March 2021. These include matches from the Constellation Cup and SPAR Challenge Tri Nation Netball Series.

Australia and New Zealand have both played four matches since the last INF World Rankings update while South Africa, Namibia, and Uganda have each played six matches. New Zealand’s 3:1 win in the Constellation Cup in March has increased their rating by 5 to 187 thereby closing the gap on Australia, who’s rating has fallen below 200. South Africa won all their matches and has increased their rating by 2 to 154, Uganda’s rating has dropped from 123 to 122, and Namibia’s rating drops 4 and they drop one place in the rankings to 24th.
