Masaza Cup 2023: Mukwana Scores First Brace As Kyaggwe Thump Buluuli, Buddu, Ssingo with Perfect Start

Putting aside the opener held on Saturday last week at Muteesa II Stadium Wankulukuku where Mawokota beat defending champions Busiro 3-1 before Kabaka, this weekend, different fixtures were held on various venues.

Kyaggwe at Bishops SS playground Mukono, found no hurdle to humble 2011 champions, Buluuli Ssaza, before the big crowd, Kyaggwe put four past Buluuli, with Mukwana Yusuf scoring the first brace of the season.

Yusuf first gave the Bukunja Warriors a lead in the 13th minute of the game through a well converted penalty before doubling the hosts lead in the 26th minute with a loop over Buluuli goalkeeper.

With five minutes to the break, Ssegujja Asaph found the net for the visitors’ consolation. In the last five minutes of the game, Mitala Mubarak and Odong Andrew also appeared on the score sheet in the 86th and 90+3 minutes respectively.

With their better goal advantage, Kyaggwe now tops Masengere group with three points and three goals.

In a game held at Mityana Ssaza ground on 2nd July, Ssingo opened up with a convincing 2-0 win over Bugerere, before a heavy turn up at Ssaza ground, Emmanuel Ajjo and Yakin Muwonge  scored in both halves.

At Recreation ground Masaka, Buddu pipped Kooki with the same score as Ssingo with Pius Ssebulime and Dickson Kigoye writing their names on score sheet. 

Kyadondo at home suffered a 1-0 defeat against Buweekula while Bulemezi with no fans in the stadium shared spoils of one all draw at Kasana Luweero.

The games honored on Saturday, the five time champions, Gomba Lions beat Ssese 1-0 before Mawogola beat Kabula with a uniform score line like that of Gomba -Ssese encounter. Busujju and Buvuma shared points after a one all draw.
