Kayunga: Ntenjeru South Elected MP Holds Thanksgiving Ceremony, Laughs at His ‘Depressed’ Enemies
Immediately after Swearing in as the newly elected Member of Parliament of the Ntenjeru South Constituency, Hon. Nsanja Patrick, Kayongo Mabirizi held a thanksgiving ceremony at Nazigo on Thursday.
Nsanja who won the 2021 general elections as independent after beating the Incumbent, Baseke Fred and the NRM ticket holder.
At the event that attracted hundreds and thousands of people in the Constituency, the soft-spoken legislator thanked the crowd for giving him maximum support even without bribing them like his opponents ‘did’.
“The Fact is I gave you nothing, I did not bribe you to give me support, but genuinely you loved me, I promise also to represent you because I know you.
I thank the team I worked with, they used their cars, fueled them minus asking for money, I really appreciate.” Nsanja Patrick addressing the crowd on Thursday at Nazigo.
“Many came out telling you that I will not win, I won, they said I will not swear in, I did, that I will no go in gazette, I am there, please my people never lose hope when God is on your side. Keep on trying.
They circulating news that I have many debts but if someone is there and you demanding me, come out and prove.
I am a man of integrity, I know you, like I speak and address you in Luganda, the same way I can do it in English on floor of Parliament, so don’t get scared I am going to represent you well.” Nsanja speaking.
For starters, Nsanja has ever represented the same constituency in the 9th Parliament but was beaten by Fred Baseke of NRM and he did not represent the area in the tenth Parliament however, Nsanja kept on tracking and managed to bounce back to represent the people of Ntenjeru South in the 11th Parliament. He came as an independent candidate.
Kayunga District has four constituencies, and five member of Parliament, apart from Amos Lugoloobi of Njeru North and Aidah Nantaba, the district Woman Member of Parliament, the rest are new in those positions.
