ITTF Regional Table Tennis Championship: Uganda Wins Gold, Silver in Team Events

The hosts of the 2024 ITTF East Africa Regional Table Tennis Championship, team Uganda have secured gold and silver medals in team events that concluded on Tuesday at Lugogo Indoor Arena – Kampala.
The hosts’ women side defeated Kenya three sets straight at the peak of the event held at Lugogo Indoor.
Uganda’s top seed Jemimah Nakawala posted the highest performance beating event’s biggest odd Lisa Nasimuyu 3-0.
On a high note, Parvin Nangonzi and Shanitah Namaala both registered a 3-1 victory over Dorren Juma and Lydia Setey on Tuesday evening.

On men’s side, it wasn’t good news for Uganda, they lost to Madagascar 3-0 in the team event which were played on Monday and Tuesday.
The Singles event followed on and tee off on Wednesday 24th April and it’s set for closure on Thursday 25th April.
Seven nations are taking part in this year’s edition; Uganda (the hosts), Rwanda, Kenya, Djibouti, Madagascar, Sudan and Mauritius.
