Bika Tournament 2024: Minister Inspects Wankulukuku, Asks Yet to Register Clans to Respond to the Call

The Buganda Kingdom Sports Minister, Owek. Robert Sserwanga Ssalongo and the Bika Football and Netball Organizing Committee chairperson have on Wednesday afternoon inspected the opener hosting venue.
For starters, Muteeea II Stadium, Wankulukuku is going to host the 50th Edition of Bika Tournament opener on Saturday 27, April, 2024 when Mmamba Namakaka will play against Butiko.
As it’s the norm, with two full days to the opener, Sports Minister, Organizing committee members and the security have inspected Muteeea II Stadium Wankulukuku and the Minister revealed that the stadium is ready to host the two fixtures, Football opener and Netball final.
“We have inspected the venue today to see how the security will be, we inspected to see what and where we need to improve, the security people also inspected the place.” Said the sports Minister.
“I want to inform the Buganda subjects that by 8am on Saturday, the gates will be open. It needs only 10000/- as an entrance fee. Children who will come with their parents, entrance will be free, then students who will come with their students IDs will also watch the game for free. ” the Minister confirmed.
However, Minister also urged the clans that are yet to register for this year’s edition to go to the ministry to register. He outlined some of the clans that are yet to register and yet they ministry already have the names of players they have details and featured in the just concluded Gombolola Cup and Buganda Schools Cup.
Mpologoma, Abalangira, Ntalaganya, Namungoona, Njobe, Nkula, Kinyomo, Nkejje, and Omutima Omuyanja are among the clans that are yet to register for the tournament.
The BIFONEC chairperson, Hajji Magala Sulaiman added his voice to that of the Minister and asked the Buganda subject to go and watch the games on Saturday at Wankulukuku and other venues that will host the games.
“As we are celebrating the 50th edition of the Bika Tournament, the preparations on our side are done, now it’s upon the clan Premiers and the grands of different clans to come and support their clans, the security is clear, we have engaged with all the responsible security organs and we are only waiting for you on Saturday.” Says Bika Organizing Committee chairperson, Katambala Hajji Magala Sulaiman.
