USSSA Ball Games 2026: Namagabi SS Target Better National Showing After Gulu Draw

Kayunga District champions Namagabi Secondary School will be looking to better their best-ever performance at the USSSA National Ball Games II after being drawn in Group E of the 2026 netball championship scheduled for Gulu City.
Namagabi, who are also the Greater Mukono regional losing finalists, go into this year’s tournament with high hopes after making history in 2025 by reaching the quarterfinals in Tororo. Their impressive campaign came to an end after a defeat to Hamdan Islamic Secondary School, but the Kayunga side returns determined to go even further.
The draw has handed Namagabi a competitive Group E comprising Tororo Girls, Sacred Heart Gulu, Bwikya Secondary School, St. Charles Kasasa and LC VIII.
Progressing from the group will be key if the Kayunga outfit is to surpass last year’s quarterfinal finish and challenge for national honours.
Elsewhere, defending champions Buddo Secondary School headline Group A, while Hamdan Islamic Secondary School—the team that knocked out Namagabi in last year’s quarterfinals—has been placed in Group I.
Former champions and other title contenders, including St. Mary’s Kitende, Kibuli Secondary School, Broadway Secondary School and St. Francis Secondary School, also learned their group stage opponents following the official draw.
