After sharing spoils at the climax of the first round of FUFA Women Super League at Luzira, She Maroons turned up at UCU Mukono Grounds very determined to walk away with maximum points. 

Their mission as soliders went as planned and the beat the students, [UCU Lady Cardinals] at their own courtyard, 3-1 in the encounter honored on Saturday morning. 

Defender, Justine Najjuko, substitute Immaculate Kizza and Jacklin Adong were on target for the prison guards, while the only goal for the students came from Kusasira Meble. 

The Christian Magoba charges won the first stanza with a goal from Kusasira Meble who’s header found the back of the net in the 23rd minute of the game. 

The former Kampala Queens forward converted the long pass laid by defender, Shadia Nankya and she put the ball far post, Maroons’ custodian Akujo was left helpless.

At the restart of second half, Maroons made the change upfront, introduced Immaculate Kizza for Millicent Namwembe, two minutes into second half, Najjuko Justine found the leveler with a long range teasing ball.

Natasha Barbara, UCU’s goalie pulled out poor goalkeeping skills and conceded with the bouncing ball after failing to calculate it’s height. 

UCU Lady Cardinals had a chance to regain their lead in the 52nd minute but Jovia Nakagolo’s strike went off target after dodging Maroons’ defender, Justine Najjuko. 

Via counter attack, substitute Immaculate Kizza found the back of the net in the 57th minute before Jacklin Adong sealed the victory in the 65th minute. 

UCU tried to bounce back into the game but She Maroons back with the serious command from their second round signing and former Lady Cardinals defender, Bridget Nabisaalu couldn’t allow to concede another goal. 

The victory moved She Maroons to 16 points but maintained their third position. 

UCU lost their fourth game of the season and the first at home, they are in 5th position with 12 points. 

In other fixtures, like She Maroons, Kawempe Muslim LFC went at St Gerald Stadium in Lubaga and collected a 0-1 win against Uganda Martyrs WFC to maintain their position at the top of the summit, thanks to Agnes Nabukenya only strike.

Rines SS WFC registered their third won of the season after beating Lady Doves FC 1-0 at Kabaka Kyabaggu ‘Stadium in Wakiso, Justine Ayerango scored the goal. 

Kawempe tops the table with 24 points in ten games, Kampala Queens second with 20 points but with a game in hand.

The match week ten will continue tomorrow with two fixtures, Wakiso Hill WFC will be hosting Kampala Queens at St Mary’s Stadium Kitende and Asubo LFC will be at their new home ground at Kawanda SS as they host Makerere University WFC.
