Education: We Prepare to Triple our Performance come Next Year- Great Kings and Queens P/S Director

The primary schools all over the country keep on displaying the performance of their pupils who sat for 2020 Primary Leaving Examination PLE, whose results returned on Friday last week.

Despite Covid-19 pandemic challenging the education sector in Uganda in 2020, pupils tried to put up exciting performance and the directors, and school heads been testifying how their pupils performed.

Among the directors is that of The Great Kings and Queens Primary School, Ndejje-Zanta, Ssabagabo-Makindye, Medi Bugembe who cited out how his school performed.

The statistics shows that Great Kings and Queens Primary School sat 54 pupils in the year 2020, 14 passed via grade one, 29 in grade two, grade three had six, four passed in grade four and only one child failed to make any grade.

School Director, said that though Covid has affected them but the performance surpassed that of 2019, the year they had only 10 first grades.

“It’s true the lockdown and covid had affected many be we at Great Kings and Queens, we thank God that we performed better than last year, in 2019 we got 10 first grades and 17 second grades but this time we got 14 children in grade one, 29 in grade two. ” School Director, Medi Bugembe.

Ainaitwe Able and Ssenyange Ukhaash were the School’s best performers for the year 2020, each registered eight points.

Currently, the schools are closed due to Pandemic and the Minister of Education, Hon. Janet K Museveni don’t know when the schools will be reopened, Bugembe asserts that they are ready to start from where they stopped.

“We are ready to start from where we stopped with our kids in primary six, we want to triple our 2021 performance compared to that of 2020, we are only waiting for the government.
