Buganda Zone One Mini League Kicks off, Draws Dominate Opening Day

The Buganda region zone one mini league has kicked off on Sunday at St Balikuddembe Grounds- Kisoga and five fixtures were honored on the opening day.
For starters, the tournament has 20 teams pitted in four groups of five, the best two shall represent the group in the quarter finals.
And the opening day was graced by Buganda region chairperson Andrew Kaweesa, Mukono DFA chairperson, Mahadi Kivumbi, former Uganda Cranes Star, Jackson Mayanja and other dignitaries.

The Mukono DFA representatives Engineers Brigade started on a high note, came from a goal down to win the game 2-1 against Kayunga DFA representatives, Ndeeba FC.
Kabuye Ashiraf first handed Ndeeba a lead but Muhweza Simon and Mubarak Sijali scored later to secure their hard-fought victory.
In the second game, Latifah Mixed FC who played the game with two players less but they have comfortably beat Buikwe DFA representatives, Nkokonjeru FC 2-0, that to Ssenabulya Kevin and Konde Marvin goals.

The last three fixtures all ended in draws and the two were barren stalemate.
Lugazi Nabugabo FC and Njeru West FC each scored once.
Najja Ujenge FC and Nyenje FC none scored in that fixture.
The official opening fixture between the hosts Kisoga FC and Mwana Conquerer also ended goalless.
The games will continue tomorrow, Monday with five fixtures and the final is set to be honored on Sunday at the same venue.

The league is officially sponsored by Diana Ka Foundation, City Sports House and Watoto Wasoka.
