Thursday Results:

Prison Netball Club 46-45 Makindye Weyonje Netball Club
KCCA Netball Club 61-37 UCU Netball Club
Uganda Prison Netball Club registered a hard-fought win against Makindye Weyonje while KCCA registered a double victory against Mutelx Life Sport and UCU on Thursday afternoon at Kamwokya Community Sports Centre.
Prisons won the game by only one goal, 46-45 was the final score and the encounter enjoyed by many on the day, being one of the upcoming enticing fixtures in Netball Super league.
The Nyongesa Imelda charges looked good especially in the first two quarters, they got the lead from the start, winning the first quarter 10-09, then managed to score 13 goals compared to 11 converted by Weyonje, however, Jesse Assiimwe side tried to get back in the game, and won the third quarter 12-10 and they got a chance to lead the fourth quarter by 4 goals but Prisons stole two important centers that gave them their third win of the season, the second against Makindye based side in three meetings.

“We played to our best, I can’t blame my girls, they played what they could but the chance wasn’t on our side, maybe I can attribute this loss to poor coordination, we have been not training together because some players were with national team in Tanzania, so I can say prison was more prepared than us. “ said Weyonje skipper, Shakirah Nassaka
Though the game was going the other way, Prison kept on pushing to the last second of the game as the club’s senior player, Lillian Ajio revealed.
“it was a tough game I can say, this league is very competitive and whenever we’re in training, I tell my teammates that we fight to the last whistle, we only give up when the game is done.” Said Lillian Ajio.
The other two games played on the day were of KCCA against Mutelx and UCU.
They were the first games for KCCA this season and they won both of them, 54-30 against Mutelx and 61-37 against UCU.
