Woodball: Over 150 Take Part in Women’s Day Championship

On 8th March 2024 the Uganda Woodball fraternity joined the entire world the celebrate the international women’s day. 

Members of Uganda Woodball Federation gathered at Lubiri Nabagereka Primary school on course of Women’s day Woodball Championship. 

The annual event on its 6th Edition seen over 150 participants representing teams in Seniors, Youth, Juniors and Cooperate categories. 

Florence Mukoye and Immy Mirembe of Makerere University Business School won the women’s senior double category by putting 53 strokes, 4 better than the second placed Makerere University duo of Agatha Auma and Sophie Namuddu who finished with 57 strokes. 

In Mixed double Alfred Nsabimana and Linda Acio of Ndejje University were superb to win with just 48 strokes ahead of Simon Otim and Vanessa Lynnette at 50 strokes while Michael Musaazi and Joan Mukova finishing at 52 strokes. 

In singles Linda Acio of Ndejje University won the senior category, Praise Ahurira of Mpoma Schools championed Youth category while Maria Namulondo and Fatuma Nayigaga of Ahmadiya finished first and second in Juniors category ahead of host’s Teo Nakabazzi.
