USSSA Mukono District Qualifiers: St Julian, St Johns off to the Next Round
St Julian High School Seeta campus put up an exceptional performance in group C and qualified to round of 32 minus conceding any goal.
The Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association Mukono district qualifiers for National Ball games one kicked off on Saturday and the group stage action climaxed on Sunday with matches on different play grounds.
The group C games were hosted at Seeta High School, Mbalala Campus and they were three teams, the fourth team, Namataba College didn’t show up, so it was the hosts, St Julian High School a d Countryside College Mukono that showed up.
Felix Ssekabuuza’s boys won the two fixtures, scoring 12 goals and conceding none, they beat Countryside College Mukono ten goals to none while put two past the hosts, Seeta High School Mbalala Campus.
Frank Ssekanjako had a hat-trick, Wanyama Simon scored a brace, Gideon and James Ssekate also appeared on score sheet as St Julian whitewashing Countryside College.
Against Seeta High, the two goals were scored by Wanyama Simon.
Wanyama who scored four goals out the 12 St Julian had on the day, he revealed to this website that their target as a school is to be champions of Mukono District.
“Our target is to be the champions of Mukono District and to perform better in nationals.” He Said. “Yes I want to be a top scorer in these qualifiers” he added.
Seeta High School also secured a win against the minos, Countryside, they beat the side nine goals to none.
In group N that was hosted at Ntawo Playground Mukono on Sunday, St John’s Mukono Kawuga was the giant in that group, winning all the three matches. Beating Fairland High School, Namruth and Mukono Islamic.
The draws for the round of 32 are expected to be held on Wednesday this week.
