Women’s Football: FUFA Confirms Clubs to Feature in Elite League, Four Fail to Meet Licencing Requirements

The long wait for Elite League season 2021/22 seems to be over when the FUFA came out to shed a green light about the real commence of the second tier.

Since the last consultative meeting, FUFA had with the Elite League clubs towards the end of last year, FUFA has been postponing the kick off dates of this league but all this was because, the clubs were not on time to submit the club licensing requirements.

In the latest communication from FUFA, twelve teams have been confirmed to feature in this year’s edition out of the possible 16 teams.

The clubs that failed to meet the requirements include; Lango Queens FC, St Peter’s, Town View SS WFC and Amuria High School WFC.

“Twelve teams have met requirements to take part in 2021/2022 season of the FUFA Women Elite League.” communication on FUFA website starts. 

“According to Sarah Birungi the FUFA Competitions Officer in charge of Development Competitions, the approved teams have provided all the requirements to participate in this year’s championship after the club licensing process.”

The teams have been put into two groups that is Elizabeth and Victoria each comprising of six teams.

‘We are done with the licensing process and grouping the teams into two basing on their location. We considered location to ease on the burden of transport for the teams.’  Said Sarah

The Competitions Officer also noted that the league is expected to kickoff on 13 March, 2022.
