The 2024/25 Uganda’s Women Super league is set to commence on 27th September 2024 with one fixture of Kampala Queens and last season late survivors, Wakiso Hill Women Football Club.

The encounter shall be hosted at 4PM at Omondi Stadium Lugogo and it will be a curtain raiser for the Uganda Premier League match of KCCA and Kitara FC which will be played at 7PM at the same venue.

Last season, the Palace Queens showed their mantle, claiming victory over the Kitende side in both legs, with a 1-0 win at Lugogo and a 2-1 triumph at Kitende.

However, after falling short in their quest to defend the 2022/2023 title, succumbing to a 2-0 defeat at the hands of Kawempe Muslims, the Queens are set to leave no stone unturned as they aim to secure maximum points and stake their claim for an early lion’s share of the spoils.

Though Kampala Queens have seen an exodus of over ten players, they have also reinforced their ranks with fresh talent, hoping that these new faces will bring a much-needed spark to their performance on the pitch.

Matchday one continues on Saturday, 28th September, with Lady Doves taking on league returnees Tooro Queens, while Olila High School faces off against newcomers Amus Womens Club. Fresh from claiming the bronze, Kawempe Muslims from Cecafa will be hosting Rines on the same day.

On Sunday, Elite champions She Corporate will make a short journey to battle Uganda Martyrs, while Makerere University Ladies host She Maroons to wrap up the opening weekend.

Kawempe Muslims, the reigning champions of the 2023/2024 season, will no doubt have their eyes on retaining the crown, but with fierce competition on the horizon, the stage is set for an exciting and unpredictable season ahead.

The new season shall see twelve teams competiting for the title that has never been defended since it’s Inception in 2019.

For starters, FUFA relegated two teams; Asubo Ladies FC and UCU Lady Cardinals and promoted four teams from Elite League.

The first round will run until Saturday 15th, December 2024 and the full season will climax on 03rd May 2025.
