Why Basoga Musicians Create Pressure against UMA

For the past decades, Busoga Region has been known for the unique unpredictable talents with big name like Sylvia Kyansuti, Afande Megadi, Via Kalikwani and East world.
Since then, Music has been taken as a joke because whoever takes their direction ends up moving to Kampala, the likes of Maro, John Blaq, Victor Ruz, Bushington to mention have all gone claiming their industry grows slowly and there is no unity and love for all.
In 2017, Busoga Media Personalities and Artists came up with an idea of uplifting their music career in the sense of SAVE JINJA MUSIC that was a campaign to boost airplay of almost 70% of home content. However all this ended in tears because of hypocrisy.
When COVID-19 broke out and Uganda Musicians Association looked for a way to get money from the government and extend its wings all over the nation, they planned to join all regions and so after receiving Money from the government they decided to register artistes in all parts of Uganda and Busoga was a victim.
A committee was created with its UMA representative and region president as NSUBUGA DAGLOUS aka Strago Genius.
And after a few weeks when the government assigned Rt. Hon Prime Minister Robinah Nabanja to give out money to the vulnerable poor, artistes were considered and the regional president registered almost all Busoga Musicians for Nabanja’s Money however only about 3 out of 200 plus received the package.
This left many artistes with unanswered queries and anger.
When Gen Salim Saleh, Museveni’s young brother decided to meet Jose Chameleon’s super star Association and UMA, non of Busoga artistes considered on any of the teams and this left many wondering why they registered with UMA and how significant is UMA in the growth of their music career after realizing they are also after Money from Sale.
Like the rest of other groups, the Busoga artistes organized a meeting and created an Association dubbed “Association of Busoga Music Managers and Entertainers with a sole aim is to reach Salim Sale’s Money.
The Association was created on 25th by Madaba Percy founded and the formar East World Artistes and 92.5 Victoria FM Radio station manager Mutyabule James was elected as the chairperson of the association.
And in their first meeting, all bullets and booms were driven to UMA as Users who only want to Enjoy Money alone in pretence of uniting artists country .
