The president who was happy to meet many of the national team players who visited the head offices on mission of receiving Covid relief.
“I am happy that I have managed to meet you today, have been not knowing most of you but I am happy that this day has come to meet you. ” Omulongo Sarah Babirye said in her opening remarks.
Before asking them to form Associations and SACCOs, the ever smiling but serious First class Public Administration and Management Scholar from UCU, assured players, Ex-Internationals, Umpires, and Coaches that the Federation is ready to work with them and give them a hand in all aspects they would like.

“You are the main stakeholders, we came here to serve you, when we were campaigning, we promised you that we are targeting to work with you, and we are working towards that, we leave our offices very late not for our own benefit but to see that you are in good state, a recognized one, you are the people that made us number one in Uganda despite the fact that we are under funded by the government. “ Said Kityo.
” But how shall we help you, as a person I believe when you come together in form of Associations, it will be easy for us to help you, please create serious Associations, with SACCOs, I promise, the Federation will help you. The same to Ex-players, the government has a number of projects for old people, but we can’t lobby for our Ex-Internationals and players because we don’t have a group we can present.
Umpires, Coaches please form those Associations to ease the work of the Federation to lobby for you as well as benefiting from your work and talent, you such very important people who need to celebrate because of your works. “
Omulongo Sarah Babirye reminded Players as the face of the nation and reminded them that they are stars only that they are not branded, she asked them to work on their Images because she wants to see them on billboards.
“You make this nation proud, you made it number three on continent and seventh in the world, this means you are stars but unfortunately the country doesn’t know you.
This means we need to work on our brand and imagine, the Federation is ready to help you on this but personal brand is very important. The companies looking for images they can work with but we are not positioned to be seen.
You the ladies to appear on those billboards.”
On the day, the Federation extended Covid relief of 100000/- to each player of national team.
