The Mukono District Qualifiers for Uganda Secondary Schools Sports Association reached at semifinals following the climax of quarterfinal fixtures honored on Thursday at Kalagi and Kabimbiri playgrounds. 

St Julian High School Seeta and Mukono Kings made it to the semifinals after topping their group with four and three points respectively. 

The opening fixture of group B that was held at Kalagi playground, saw Central College Kabimbiri and St Julian High School sharing spoils after a one all draw, Central College first got a lead in the first stanza with Oboth Gideon Saava strike but it was cancelled by Mukasa Elisa dying minutes well converted penalties.

Mukono Kings beat Seeta High School Mbalala Campus 2-1 but immediately after the game, Seeta High pulled out of the race claiming that they were badly officiated and can’t continue with the mess in the game. The side set off and left the ground with three teams.

The result was cancelled by the organizers and opted to settle with the three teams that played each other and the top two qualified to semifinals. 

St Julian earned a hard-fought victory against another title favorites, Mukono Kings to top the ground with four points, against Mukasa Elisa was the standing boy who also converted a penalty for Julian to walk away with a much needed result.

Mukono Kings to stay in the race had only one option to beat Central College Kabimbiri to which they did and also scored video a spot kick in the first stanza, thanks to Opio Benon’s well taken penalty.

In group A that was held at Kabimbiri playground, Latifah Mixed SS and Dynamic SS Sonde progressed to semis.

According to the draws, Mukono Kings will play against Dynamic SS while Latifah Mixed SS will lock horns with St Julian High School. 

The two fixtures will be honored on Wednesday next week at a venue yet to be communicated. 

However, all the eight teams that featured at quarter finals will represent Mukono District in the Greater Mukono zone qualifiers slated for next month.
