USSSA Kampala Zone Girls Qualifiers: Kawempe Muslim, Uganda Martyrs Still Exceptional, Off to Semis

The USSSA Kampala Zone Girls qualifiers have reached knockout stage and the two zone giants have never disappointed, Kawempe Muslim SS and Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga have qualified to the semifinal. 

The one day fixtures were honored on Thursday at Kibuli SS, ten teams from five divisions that make up Kampala zone. They were pitted in two groups. 

Group A had;  Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, St Joseph SS Nsambya, Highland SS,Rubaga Girls and Kololo. 

Then group B had; Kawempe Muslim SS, Gaddafi Integrated Academy, Caltec Academy Makerere, Lakeside Luzira and Namungoona 

Kawempe Muslim SS, Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga, Gaddafi Integrated Academy and Highland SS qualified to semifinals slated to be honored on Friday,12, April, 2024 at the same venue. 

Kawempe Muslim scored the highest number of goals in a single match, the side beat Lakeside Luzira 20-1, the finished with 12 points, scored 29 goals in total and conceded only one. 

Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga also collected 12 points with 15 goals. 

Highland SS with better goal difference managed to propel to semifinals leaving Rubaga Girls in the goal, the side they were sharing points, they also collected seven points.  

Rubaga Girls that’s under the stewardship of former Lady Doves FC Tactician Oliver Mbekeka, looked an improved side compared to her previous appearances. 

At the semifinal, Kawempe Muslim will be playing against Highland SS while Uganda Martyrs and Gaddafi Integrated Academy will be locking horns.

Kampala region will be represented with three schools in the Nationals to be held at Ndejje SS late this month.
