USSSA Kampala Region Qualifiers: Ssekitooleko’s Brace Gives Kawempe a better start as Lubiri Gets off the Mark

Ssekitooleko Ryan scored a brace for Kawempe Muslim SS to kick start USSSA Kampala Region Qualifiers on a high note.
Kawempe Muslim beat Kakungulu Memorial 2-1 in the opener held on Sunday afternoon at Lubiri SS playground.
Forward, Ssekitooleko Ryan scored two goals for the Ayub Khalifah charges in the first stanza and the consolation for Lubaga based side, Kakungulu Memorial came from Azabo Ibrahim in the second half of the game.
It was an end to end encounter especially in the second stanza however, Kawempe was more organized than Kakungulu.
The win makes Kawempe Muslim a joint group A table leaders with Lubiri SS who beat Ahmadiyah Muslim SS 2-1.
In other Sunday results, last season Winners, Kibuli SS shared spoils with Old Kampala SS in the game played at Buziga Islamic SS.
Kazo Hill from Group B also started their journey to qualify to their first USSSA National championship with a 1-0 victory against Bishop Ciprian High School.
The group stage games are to be played for three days, from Sunday to Tuesday before having final on Friday this week.
The action resumes tomorrow, Monday with eight fixtures on card at six playgrounds.
Kawempe Muslim will have their second game tomorrow against Ahmadiyah Muslim High School at Uganda Martyrs High School Lubaga playground at 2PM.
Kakungulu Memorial will be looking for their first victory when they will play against Lubiri SS at Old Kampala SS.
