UPL: Ssenkatuuka’s Extraordinary Strike Earns Soltilo Bright Stars A Point
Soltilo Bright Stars shared spoils with URA FC in a game played in a heavy downpour on a Thursday afternoon at Kavumba Recreation Ground.
Striker Ivan Ahimbisibwe’s first half goal for URA FC was canceled by Nelson Senkatuka’s incredible strike in the second half as URA FC kept the unbeaten run.
URA FC scored the opener through goal poacher Ivan Ahimbisibwe when the striker headed in from Laban Tibita’s well delivered corner in the 19th minute of first stanza.
Few minutes later, URA FC almost doubled the lead but goalkeeper Hassan Matovu incredibly saved the ball to save Bright Stars from conceding the second goal before the break.
Into the second half, both teams had several chances to score goals but they were not clinical enough to find the back of the net.
With heavy rain in the second half making hard to pass the ball, Innocent Kitimbo played a long ball behind the URA FC two defenders that found well positioned Senkatuka who struck to level the matters in the 77th minute.
The hosts put pressure on the visitors but nothing yielded as Ssenkatuuka’s stunning equalizer denied URA FC a win at Kavumba.
Nelson Ssenkatuuka was named the man of the match for his unmatched performance but Bright Stars continued to struggle as they’re still winless in three games having only two points.
URA FC stayed unbeaten after the third game, drawing twice and winning once and having five points on the log.
The two sides will return to action on Saturday 21st October, as URA FC will be hosting Wakiso Giants FC at Mehta Stadium, Lugazi while Soltilo Bright Stars will visit Express FC at Wankulukuku stadium.
