UPL: BUL ‘Oil’ Fails to ‘Fry’ UPDF ‘beans’, Unbeaten No More as Arua’s Mission to 2nd Tier still Clear

SC Villa 3-1 Arua Hill
UPDF 2-0 BUL
The Uganda Premier League returned on Thursday with two games on Match day seven and SC Villa comfortably defeated Arua Hill 3-1 while UPDF FC shocked BUL FC with a stunning 2-0 win in Bombo.
Bernard Muwanga and Sam Kintu scored a goal each as UPDF FC ended BUL FC unbeaten of six games, Muwanga scored in the first half to put the hosts in the lead.
Midfielder Sam Kintu doubled the lead for the hosts in the second half with a powerful shot which sealed their deserving victory to register a second consecutive win of the season.
BUL had won the last 6 games, the maximum by any team in the league so far. Last week UPDF FC registered the first win of the season beating Busoga United 2-0 and they have done the same today against table leaders.
Elsewhere, at Wankulukuku, dominant SC Villa failed to find the back of the net in the first stanza for the game to go goalless.
Two minutes into second half, midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda put the hosts in the lead with a screamer which left the goalkeeper with no chance to save it.
In the 69th minutes, Umar Lutalo scored the second for Joogos. Lutalo made a run into the box and smashed the ball past the goalkeeper to find the back of the net from a well delivered free kick.
Substitute Peter Onzima scored the third goal for SC Villa in the 90th minute to put the last nail in the coffin. However, in the last minute of the added minutes, substitute Frank Kalanda netted a consolation with a beautiful header.
This was SC Villa’s second win this season after beating NEC earlier and the Joogos have climbed the table to 8th position with 8 points collected from 6 games.
Arua Hill have now lost 6 and drawn once in the first seven league games this season and sits at the bottom of the table.
In the next game, SC Villa will visit Mbarara City on 23rd November, Arua Hill will host UPDF FC the following day and BUL will host Kitara on 26th November.
Meanwhile, the matchday seven, will continue tomorrow with three games lined up as in-form Vipers SC visits KCCA FC, winless Soltilo Bright Stars welcomes Busoga United and URA FC will host Kitara FC.
