University Games 2023: Kampala University Wants to Make Serious Statement in Women Soccer
The 19th edition of Association of Uganda University Sports (AUUS) (Inter University games) are set to kick off on Saturday 16th December at Uganda Christian University Mukono Campus.
Universities in Uganda will be competing in over 17 disciplines and among them is Women Football.
Kampala University Female football team head coach, Micheal Kalyesubula told this website that in this year’s edition, they want to make serious statement since the varsity didn’t not present a team in 18th edition held at University of Kisubi in Entebbe.
“We did not present a team last edition, we were not firmly prepared but this time we are and we want to write statement.” Says Kampala University Women’s football team head coach Micheal Kalyesubula.
“We have been training well,
Having a double session training from Monday, The team is in good shape, physically and Mentally.
We are now going to work on the tactical formations. The team has players from both campuses (Luwero and Gaba).” He added.
The team’s skipper, Juliet Adeke in the same line she asserted that they are going for trophy nothing else.
“My camp is well prepared, we have been training, working hard, we know we’re going in for inter University games we know we are going to compete not participate.” Said Juliet Adeke.

Last edition women soccer was won by Uganda Christian University, they beat Nkumba University on final.
Kampala University Sports Tutor, Martha Soigi confirmed that the Ggaba based University will take part in nine disciplines out of the 17.
“We’re going to compete in the 19th AUUS Inter University games in December 2023.” She confirmed.
“Kampala University is taking part in Soccer,basketball, Handball,volleyball, Woodhall,darts,chess,pool
Swimming men and women.”
Over ten Universities are to take part in this edition, Ndejje University are the defending champions.
