UNEB: Candidates Count Your ‘Winter Days’ Well, Time Table is Out

Today, Thursday 18th, August 2022, at the Uganda Media Centre, the Executive Director of the Uganda National Examination Board, Mr Dan Odongo, has released the examination timetable for the Primary Leaving Examination (PLE), Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) and Uganda Advanced Certificate of Education (UACE) for 2022.

For this year, UCE exams will commence on 14th October 2022, and as usual, the briefing of candidates on the directions and cautions for the examinations is the first paper on Friday, and later, Mathematics will follow on Monday 17th.

For this year, a total of one million two hundred eighty thousand one hundred and seventy two (1,280,172) candidates have registered for all the three (3) levels for the final examinations. This indicates a 7.7 percent increase in the total candidature from last time final exams were done.

832,821 PLE candidates they have been registered in total compared to 749,809 last year. The registered number for UCE is 349,455, and for UACE, 97,896 have been registered.

UNEB have informed both candidates and parents, and also the teachers, that any kind of malpractice will lead to disqualification of the candidates.

“Teachers, candidates and parents, you should be vigilant not to be part and partia of malpractice, and if it appears anywhere, then report to UNEB immediately,” the UNEB Executive Director sternly noted.

The heads of examination centres and District Inspectors of Schools will be advised when to pick the materials. UCE, which is the first series of the examinations to be conducted, will run until 18th November 2022.

The second series of examinations is PLE, which will be conducted from 7th to 9th November 2022, and lastly, UACE will commence on 18th November and run up to 9th December 2022.

The board has noted previously that where cases of irregularities and malpractice have been noted, the root cause has often been that the candidates would have been poorly briefed or not briefed at all.
