UBCL Season Four Ends With a Grudge Match as Manirola Seeks Redemption

The Uganda Boxing Champions League (UBCL) will officially bring down the curtain on its fourth season on December 26th at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, with a grand finale featuring 27 highly anticipated bouts that underline the steady growth of Uganda’s amateur boxing scene.
The spotlight will firmly rest on the Elite category (63.5kgs) main event, where Farahat Manirola aka “King Falat The Nightmare” face off with Innocent Amoko in a bout rich with history and unfinished business.
More than just a title fight, the clash represents redemption, rivalry and the final statement of the 2025 UBCL campaign.
Manirola, an orthodox stance boxer from Lukanga Boxing Club, has emerged as one of the league’s most consistent and exciting performers this season. His arrival onto the UBCL stage was emphatic. On Saturday, May 3rd, 2025, at Club Obligato in Kampala, Manirola announced himself to the amateur ranks with a commanding 5–0 unanimous decision victory over Julius Kaddu of Katabi Boxing Club. That dominant display immediately marked him out as a serious contender for the Elite division crown.
As the league enters Week 18, the final program of the season, Manirola heads into the finale as the favourite, buoyed by strong performances in recent rounds and growing belief among fans that his moment has arrived.
Standing across the ring will be Innocent Amoko, a fighter who already holds a narrow edge over “King Falat.” The two boxers have met only once before, earlier this year in March during the National Open Championship, also staged at Lugogo. That encounter ended in a 3–2 split decision victory for Amoko a verdict that sparked debate among boxing followers, with many believing Manirola had done enough to claim the win on his amateur debut.
Amoko’s road to the UBCL final was less dramatic but equally decisive. He secured his place in the championship bout after receiving a bye when his scheduled opponent from Week 15 failed to show up, sealing his path to the finale.
Beyond the headline fight, the December 26 program promises a full showcase of Uganda’s boxing depth. UBCL officials believe the finale will reflect the league’s mission to provide competitive exposure for emerging talent while sharpening the skills of established fighters pushing for championship recognition.
Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi described the finale as the climax of a demanding but rewarding season.
“December 26th is the finals of the Uganda Boxing Champions League and I am super excited that we have come all the way,” Muhangi said.
“We have few days to go, and it has been a tough journey. But now it is coming to an end. I call upon all Ugandans to tune in and witness our finals as we crown the champions.” The Kampala Central MP Aspirant told added.
Muhangi also addressed the decision to stage the finals at the Lugogo Indoor Arena, citing long-standing logistical challenges.
“We have always struggled with venues, which is why this time we decided to come to the Lugogo. But we will continue working hard so that next year we secure an even better venue,” he explained.
