Tarehe Sita: UPDF Will Never Desert The Population – Gen Muhoozi

The Minister of State for Internal Affairs Gen David Muhoozi has on Sunday 29th, January 2033 in Mbarara reiterated that Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) is committed to continue working with the population to preserve peace and security in the country.
“UPDF will never desert the population in what ever circumstances,” said Gen David Muhoozi while launching the 2023 Tarehe Sita activities in Mbarara District yesterday.

He added that NRA/UPDF has remained a Peoples’ Force since 1986; thus maintaining a strong strategic partnership with the population.”
He called upon all men and Women in Uniform to protect their unique relationship with the population for the continuity of peace.
The UPDF Commader of Air Force Lt Gen Charles Okidi who represented the Chief of Defence Forces Gen Wilson Mbadi, in his remarks, commended residents for contributing to the struggle and urged them to keep keen interest in army activities, since they normally aim at transformation of communities.
The ceremony was also attended by local leaders, General Officers, Senior Officers from security forces, UPDF Officers and Militants, among others.
Tarehe Sita, is the day that is commemorated annually to remember the day when the National Resistance Army led by Yoweri Museveni, launched an armed struggle to end the ‘misrule’ in Uganda.
