FDC Endorses ‘Strong’ Candidate For Serere District By-election

On Monday morning at their party headquarters in Najjanakumbi Entebbe road, Forum for the Democratic Change (FDC) has endorsed Emmanuel Eratu as flag bearer for the light blue party in the member of Parliament by- elections in Serere district.
“FDC has announced Mr. Emmanuel Eratu as our Parliamentary candidate for the Serere County by-election.”
“He is a seasoned politician and an outstanding citizen who has the capabilities of transformative legislation in the National Assembly and the FDC calls upon all the people of Serere to trust FDC by choosing our candidate.”

“Forum for democratic party they all know that NRM Junta will unleash the money, and security services in this campaign.”
However, the confidence is in the people of Serere who have always supported FDC in the journey to liberation.
The party president Mr Patrick Oboi Amuriat said that “I know that Mr. Museveni has done everything within his means to ensure that he takes back TESO region ” and also added that “The By-election of Soroti was a message sent to the NRM that the people of Teso are still solid rally behind the FDC party and so we are going to go into this election with the objective of winning the election, but also of passing our message of liberation to the people of Uganda, to the people of Teso as we did in all the by elections, I’ll bet without success that we are conducted across the country.”
Eratu Emmanuel said that “Am very happy to be here as FDC fully registered member . Have received the instruments of the leadership today. you all know that Serere sub county is vacant not have a member of Parliament and this is not my first time to contest, in 2021 I contested as an independent candidate but of now have decided to be in the family of forum for the democratic change party (FDC) and I was asked that am I ready for Malice, tear gas, I mean I am ready to confess any challenges and am here to represent serere sub county.”
Polling and tallying of results for by-election of Member of Parliament will be conducted on Thursday 23rd February, 2023.
The Parliamentary seat for Serere County fell vacant following the death of the former Member of Parliament, the Late Hon. Okabe Patrick, in a motor accident on 19th December 2022.
