SUPL: BUL Out To Stop Vipers’ 2-year Home Unbeaten Run

The defending champions Vipers SC are welcoming BUL FC this evening in the match day twelve of Startimes Uganda Premier League in the game to be played under the floodlights of St Mary’s Stadium in Kitende.

The two teams are fighting for the top of the table slot and its expected to be a highly contesting game. Vipers are only two points behind the visitors and a win for the hosts will take them at the top of the table.

BUL are aiming to stop Vipers’ two -year unbeaten run at home and also keep themselves on the top of the log.

In their previous outing, Vipers shared spoils with Maroons FC in a 1-all draw the same score line BUL had in their last game against NEC FC in Njeru.

In the last visit, BUL were held by Express in a 1-1 draw while Vipers defeated Kitara FC 2-1 in their last home game.

Last season, Milton Karisa and Cromwell Rwothomio scored a goal each as Vipers defeated BUL FC 2-1 at the St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende.

But away at the FUFA Technical Center, Njeru, it ended in a 1-1 draw, with Karim Watambala’s late equalizer securing a point for Vipers.

In the last 25 meetings, Venoms have won 17 times, drawn on six occasions and lost just two, scoring 35 goals against 16.

Speaking to media via club’s socials, Vipers head coach Leo Neiva explains that, they only three points and this game is crucial for them.

“It will be a tough game and like a final for us for sure but in Brazil we say ‘3 points are like 6 points’. For sure, we are ready and going try to give our best. Its a very crucial game that we have to handle carefully and make sure we take the maximum points.” Said brave Neiva

BUL FC head coach Abbey Kikomeko believes that his boys will score goals that will enable his team to win the game.

“We have trained well in the last days, we corrected our mistakes from the previous two games and I believe that we’re going to score goals and win the game. Playing under floodlights is not a problem, we planned for it and our focus is to win the game and stay on top of the table.” Said Kikomeko.

Vipers will miss goalkeepers Alfred Mudekereza and Jack Komakech due to due to broken finger, twisted ankle respectively while striker Abdu Lumala is also out due to groin injury.

BUL FC welcomes back Reagan Kalyowa and Ronald Otti from injuries while Benon Tahomera and Walter Ochora are still out due to suspension but the rest of the squad is available for selection.
