Retired Champions Set for Big Comeback Bout Night at Club Obligato
By Kayiira Jackson
Uganda’s legendary fists are set to come alive again as Bando Bando Promotions, in partnership with Ex-international Boxers, lines up a special Boxing Fans Day scheduled for 28 February 2026 at New Club Obligato in Kampala.
The event is dedicated exclusively to retired and ex-international fighters, offering fans a rare chance to witness the ring icons who once carried Uganda’s flag with pride. More than eight bouts are lined up for the exhibition showcase.
According to Charles Kasumba, one of the event organizers under Bando Bando Promotions, the showcase aims to inspire the new generation of boxers.

“We want today’s young fighters to see the skills we used in our time. Boxing has evolved, but the artistry, discipline, and ring IQ of our generation must not be forgotten,” Kasumba explained.
Veteran coach and legend Kasumba “China” Charles further noted the decline in skill-focused boxing among today’s athletes.
“There’s no skills display in this generation compared to our days. I appeal to all Ugandans to come on 28th February and witness some of the greatest boxers this country has ever produced,” he urged.
