Today, 22nd, February, 2021, the National Unity Platform principal and former presidential aspirant in January polls, Kyagulanyi Ssentamu Robert aka Bobi Wine has ordered his lawyers to withdraw their petition against Election fraud from the high Court.
After electoral commission announced President Museveni Kaguta as the next president of Uganda for the sixth consecutive time, NUP and their president opposed the results citing that the electoral process wasn’t free and fair and they decided to petition High Court to cancel the elections and order for RE-run. And their petition was submitted in on the eve of this month and the judgement was expected to take place on 18th March 2021.
In the due course, Kyagulanyi’s lawyers asked court to accept their fresh evidence to be added to the first compiled one but the court that is under the guidance of Chief Justice, Alfonse Owiny Dollo rejected them. From that point, the rumors started making around that Kyagulanyi may withdraw the case and the last nail in the coffin was put when photos of three high Court Judge cars going and from State House Entebbe circulated on social media.
While addressing media at the party head offices in Kamwokya Kampala, Kyagulanyi said that now they can’t have any single trust in a court whose chief judge is already compromised.
He also said that Owiny Dollo would be a man who love justice most but on what transpiring he is now the chief of Injustice not Justice.

“The reason why we went to court was to look for justice and in my interpretation, the Chief Justice must be the Supreme in understanding and interpreting the law but now he is a chief of injustice. We are seeing no justice on their Court, we have resorted to public court.” The Ghetto Gladiator addressing media.
On Sunday while at the party head quarters at Kyadondo Rd, Kampala, NRM legal team said that if Kyagulanyi get tempted to withdraw the case, he stand higher chances of being slapped with high costs.
However, Kyagulanyi remained unmoved and said that they are ready to face any consequences that will come after.
“They are intimidating us, telling us that if we exercise our right and withdraw from a court that is clearly biased, they will slap us with costs. I want to tell them in strongest terms that we are not scared, the price that has already paid is too huge. We buried Frank Ssenteza, Nabukenya, Kawuma, to stand against Museveni, you don’t stake your house, your money but life. So just to remind you ‘Twatala afiya’ we staked our life.
We are not going to be intimidated by anything, we shall say everything the we believe.” Kyagulanyi.
Kyagulanyi also asked Ugandans not to be diverted with him getting a bulletproof vehicle.
