Netball: Shadia Nassanga Hides No Excitement after Maiden She Cranes Call

Kampala Capital City Authority Netball Club and She Pearls goal shooter, Shadia Nassanga failed to hide her excitement when she reported for her maiden Senior national team (She Cranes) training yesterday.

Nassanga 20, is one of 18-player squad who were summoned last week to enter preparations for the Cape Town test Series slated to take place between 24th and 30th March 2021 in Cape Town South Africa.

While speaking to this website yesterday after evening training session, Nassaga revealed that she is so excited to be at National senior team and will to work hard to see that she also make the final list of 12 who are mandated to travel.

“I am so excited, being called at National senior team is something special.” Nassanga revealed before adding. “To be here it means I did something better than others that’s why am here, so my prayers is God to help and be at least the 12th player on the squad that is traveling.”

Uganda is playing South Africa in test Series, but the Spar Proteas is the top ranked side in Africa and fifth in the world according to International Netball Federation rankings.

Despite the fact that the current She Cranes squad has a number of new faces, Shadia is confident that they can also put up strong challenge against the Spar Proteas.

“Yes south Africa is a good side but we are not scared of them and the training we are getting will enable us to put am strong challenge.” Nassanga.

The team entered day two of none residential training at Lugogo and according to assistant coach, Mugisha Ali, in the first week the team will be more in fitness sessions.

Sixteen players out of the summoned 18 featured in the first day training.
