Over 70000 Ungraded, 2000 Results Withheld As UNEB Release 2020 PLE Results

The Minister of Education and Sports Hon. Janet K Museveni in conjunction with Uganda National Examination Board (UNEB) on Friday 16, July, 2021 officially released the 2020 Primary Leaving Examination PLE results.

Out of 749942 registered candidates to sit 2020 examinations, 736,942 managed to sit and 12,819 never sat.

According to statistics, the performance of pupils in mathematics declined compared to that of 2019 and Females performed better in English subject but the other three subjects, male pupils were the best performers.

1599 pupils with special needs sat PLE, the females were 752 and males were 847 in numbers.

The year 2020, 74,878 pupils were ungraded and this means they are to repeat the class.

2220 results were withheld by UNEB with a question of examination malpractices.

According to reports, Examination malpractices were highly in districts of Rwenzori region especially in Bundibugyo and Kasese Districts and UNEB said the investigations already started in the matter.

UNEB advised Schools, parents and Pupils, whose results were withheld should not panic but the matter is under the Security committee of the Board. The list of all schools engaged and alleged to have got involved in examination malpractices will be released in Newspapers.

The Luzira Prison inmates who registered for UNEB, 53 sat, five passed in division one, 23 obtained division two, 11 in division three and 11 in division four while three failed.

The statistics shows that 659,910 passed exams and they can apply for post primary education and the number of those passed cumulatively increased compared to that of 2019 which was 617,150.

To check for results, type PLE [space] Index No and send to 6600. For example PLE 003400/001 and send to 6600.
