OPM Office: Excitement as Rugunda Hands Over to Nabbanja

Former prime minister of the Republic of Uganda Rt. Hon. Ruhakana Rugunda, today Tuesday officially hands over office to newly appointed person for the office, Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja.

The handover ceremony took place at the Office of Prime Minister in Kampala on Tuesday, 22, June 2021 before a number of ministers and other government dignitaries.

The former prime minister congratulated his successor for assuming the office and applauded her for the grassroot knowledge she has, Rugunda in the same way congratulated the other appointed ministers and the outgoing ones, he pledged to give support wherever required.

“I want to take this moment to welcome the incoming Prime Minister Rt. Hon. Robinah Nabbanja and congratulate her upon her appointment.

The Prime Minister with her knowledge of the grassroots will enable government services reach the “Wananchi”. Rugunda while giving his speech before handing over to Nabbanja.

“I congratulate all the new ministers and we assure them of our support. I also want to take this moment to salute all the outgoing ministers in the OPM. I urge you to take the period in OPM to have been a training period to become Better.

The new prime minister also thanked her predecessor for endlessly giving her support and advice. She said that they are work for the people.

 “We shall ensure that government business in Parliament is brought in a timely manner to avoid delays. Together with the Government Chief Whip, we shall ensure that ministers attend Parliamentary sessions.” Nabbanja.
