Olympism full circles initiative is one of the activities on the calendar of Uganda Olympic Committee and it has climaxed on Saturday, 23rd, July 2022 at the UOC headquarters in Lugogo.
The program which was officially launched on Friday, 11th February 2022 at the UOC headquarters in Lugogo, had over 3000 students from 43 schools around the country and many of them testified how the program shaped them.
On Saturday, the best performing Schools and students received their graduation certificate at Uganda Olympic Committee headquarters.
Uganda Olympic committee President Donald Rukare graced the closing ceremony at Lugogo and emphasized the students to put in practice of what they have learned in over six months of the initiative.
“Through our commission of culture and education led by Annet Nakamya and her team for this activity. Olympism has comprises of values respect, friendship and excellence. Sports is a very big enterprise, builds character and discipline. Through this initiative I believe the young people will be able to interact with others from various schools and the value to respect each other. It gives excellence in life and so we want olympism to go to schools and the students we had in this will practice what they learnt” Said Donald Rukare
UOC Olympic Education, Culture and Legacy commission chairperson Annet Nakamya applauded the schools that participated in the initiative and called upon the teachers to emphasize the activities in schools
“We are so grateful as a commission that a big number of partners came for these booklets. We are grateful that the schools participated in our activities. Let’s emphasize these activities in schools that is my humble appeal to the teachers.”

Hamzah Jjunju of Kabowa High School thanked UOC for the initiative and lauded students to practice what they have learned because it’s what can help them to make good decision in their daily life.
“I thank UOC for this program which I believe is to benefit the students in various schools across the country, sports touches, mind soul an body, these are the things we use to make decisions in our daily life.” Said Jjunju Hamza
This Initiative is a sport and education project of the UOC, inspired by the International Olympic committee (IOC) Olympic Values education Programme (OVEP).
For the sports activities, in every five events competed within an education theme, that implies a ‘ring’ closed, a full circle attained.
A full circle’ was only attained only upon completion of 5 activities which demonstrates an education Value.
The schools that were present at the closing ceremony are Kings College Buddo, Tororo Town College, St Mary’s College Kisubi, Mount St. Mary’s College Namagunga, Kiira College Butiiki, Kabowa High, Rugonji Army school – Tororo, Luigi Guissian, Namilyango College, Gayaza High School, Wanyange Girls, Jinja College, Jinja S.S.S, Bweranyangi Girls (Bushenyi) among others.
