Netball Super League: NIC’s ‘mature goat’ Forcefully Eaten Alive, And KCCA is the Only ‘Rapist’ in This Case

For the first time in three years, the 2021 league champion, National Insurance Corporation Netball Club (NIC) surrendered two points to her immediate rivals KCCA Netball Club.
The epic encounter of the giants between KCCA and NIC in the league honored at Kamwokya Community Sports Center on Saturday ended 39-37 in favor of KCCA Netball Club.
The game has been tight from the throw off to the wire and it needed Victoria Nantumbwe to miss to score to take NIC back in the two goals lead for KCCA to overturn the results in the last one minute of the game.
The first quarter ended 9-8 in favor of KCCA but NIC after introducing Rachel Nanyonga on court in for Amiya Penlop, NIC won the second quarter 8-11 and we went into the break while Mugisha Ali’s charges were in two goals lead.
However, Mugerwa Fred coached side, bounced back stronger in third quarter, with Hanisha Muhammad sharpness in the D, won KCCA 14 goals only in that quarter against the 8 converted by NIC.
Though they won the last quarter by two goals, the four goals gap that was created in third quarter helped KCCA to beat NIC 39-37 since they last did it in 2019.
“It was an excellent performance from the girls, the girls especially in the shooting circle were somehow damaged, Rachel [Nanyonga] has been off 3 to 4 weeks since she lost her husband, Zam was suspended, so we literally had two shooters, Amiya [Penlop] and Victo [Nantumbwe], we tried that combination but couldn’t work in the first quarter but again, I applaud the girls for the performance. We lost the game towards it, we couldn’t shoot, thats how we lost it to a smaller margin, but that shouldn’t make them [KCCA] complacent because we are coming back stronger, we are the defending champion. ” Said Mugisha Ali, NIC’s assistant coach.
His counter part, Kato Nourdine revealed that they have been working hard towards that game.
“The girls put up a good performance, and it explains why we do have the big number of players on national team, we have been training hard towards this game, we know NIC is a big team, so we had to come all out for the game and good enough we have won it.” Says Kato, the KCCA assistant coach.
Last season, these two clubs shared pointe on both rounds.
Despite the loss, NIC still on top of the table with 12 points while KCCA moved to third position with four wins in four.
The other games played on the day, UPDF beat Ugx Luweero 56-24, Police defeated Africa Renewal 44-40 while Posta lost another league game to Weyonje by 34-63.
The league will return on Wednesday at Kamwokya.
