The last season league top scorer, Asinah Kabendera took the top seat at the top scorers’ chart yesterday when her side, Makindye Weyonje register two wins on Wednesday.
In two games she played yesterday, Kabendera scored 88 goals that put her on 225 goals and leapfrogged Charity Cinderella of Busia Greater Lions who currently have 175 goals and Abe Kevin who has 153.
Makindye Weyonje Netball Club won two games against Africa Renewal University and UPDF and won them by 49-41 and 55-49 respectively and went on top with eight points.

Their first game looked a simple one for Weyonje in the first quarter after winning it 15-10 but Africa Renewal turned the tables in second quarter, allowing Weyonje scoring only four goals against the 16 converted by the former.
The Weyonje tactician had to make two changes in third quarter to reclaim it’s lead, he brought on Amoding Harriet and Achola Lillian in goal attacking and centre and the two changes did wonders, they won the third quarter 16-07 and last quarter 14-08 to win the game 49-41 before beating UPDF in the last game of the day that was on floodlights.
Weyonje beat UPDF 55-49, it was also another tight game and UPDF had a lead in the first quarter, 12-10, but second quarter and last were won by Weyonje, 15-12, 18-13 but the third was a tie at 12, the Jesse coached side won that game 55-49 to go top.

“Its like my players first undermined the opponent and some were not starters, so since we have two games, I had to make changes in this but I was confident that we can win the game. Yes we played second quarter poorly because we lacked coordination and our opponent utilized all the chances but finally we won it.” Jesse Assiimwe said.
UCU returned to winning ways win an important victory against Police Netball Club, the Mukono based side won the game by 58-41 to take the second spot on the log with eight points.
