Money, Trophy Celebrations: Shaka Zulu Foods Congratulate Kawempe With a Heavy Luncheon

The Kawempe Muslim SS under fifteen team that won a bronze medal and USD150,000 has returned home on Monday, 27, May, 2024. 

The team touched base at Entebbe International Airport at 1:30PM boarding Uganda Airports and they were received by the Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC, the other team that won the FUFA Women Super league and Kawempe Muslim SS and Ladies FC sports department. 

“Our target was to win the trophy but it didn’t work out and we have settled for a bronze medal and we’re happy for what Allah gave us.” Said Shadia Nabirye, Kawempe Muslim SS captain.  

Before reaching the school campus, the team had a luncheon at Shaka Zulu Foods at Entebbe road. 

“The founders of the Shaka Zulu Foods are parents at Kawempe Muslim SS and they are among the fraternity of Kawempe Muslim SS OBs and OGs, then why not support your own, why not support your kids?, so we saw it important for our children to have a lunch with us and as you know, we have the best food in the country.” Said Kaitesi Malukia, Marketing Manager, Shaka Zulu Foods.  

The contingent reached school at 5PM and they presented the dummy cheque and the trophy to the students who had already waited for them at the school parade. 

“We thank you for always cheering us, I know most of you did see the trophy when we won it but we have brought it to you here such that you witness the victory we got as a school and women football club. We’re also going to represent the country on continent.”  Phionah Nabulime, Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC captain addressed the students in her simple speech. 

The journey for Kawempe is still on, according to their tactician, Ayub Khalifa, they are targeting a double this season. They will be playing Byafaayo Queens on Thursday in round of 16 Women Cup fixture. The game will be held at the Valley.
