Bika Football Tournament: Mbogo, Reigning Champions Ngoonge Off to Quarters

The group stages of the 50th edition of Bika Football Tournament had climaxed on Sunday and reigning champions, Ngoonge and losing finalists, Mbogo made it to the quarter finals. 

To reach knockout stage, Mbogo topped group C with seven points though they didn’t played their last group fixture because Nyonyi Ndiisa never showed up at Kawanda SS ground. 

Richard “Macheda” Ssonko poked home the day’s only goal for Ngoonge against Nvuma. Ngoonge topped group A with seven points 

Omutima Omusagi overcame Kasimba 2-0 courtesy of Junior Lusaggi and Sudaice Mutale goals. 

Sharif Ssaka and Brian Majwega netted the goals for Mpindi during their 2-0 win against Nnyonyi Nyange.

Njaza held Ngeye to a 1-all draw. Ivan Kalyowa scored Njaza’s goals with Charles Ssebutinde replying for Ngeye.

Lugave fell 1-2 to Mmamba Kakobooza. Brian Muluuli Mayanja and Warren Buule netted the goals cor Mmamba Kakobooza with Brian Nkuubi Ssemakula getting the consolation for Lugave.

The quarter-final matches will be held on Wednesday, 29th May 2024 ahead of the semi-finals. 

The bika football final will be played on 8th June 2024 at a venue yet to be confirmed.
