FWEL: Lango Queens Set Ambitious Target Ahead Of New Season
Lira based FUFA Women Elite League side, Lango Queens Football Club has set ambitious target ahead of the new 2023/2024 season which kicks off this Saturday, 21st October 2023.
Lango Queens Football Club will face off with Ehcos Women Football Club at Akii Bua Stadium with kick off time, 4PM
Daniel Omara the CEO of the club admitted that the club is fully prepared to face the new season starting over the weekend on with aim of storming the FUFA women super league next season.
“The preparation we had prior to the start of the season was great, we were able to play some pre-season friendly game with different teams within the region and we managed to win all of them which is a clear indication that the Rhinoceros are prepared and ready to approach the new season and the team is ready for nothing else apart from qualifying to the Super league next season” ,Omara Said.
The team which is being managed by one of the most capped and experienced coach in the Sub Region, Geoffrey Okwii who holds a CAF B Coaching license and also double as an instructor assisted by Richard Opio who holds CAF C Coaching license will be participating in the second tier league for five consecutive seasons
New signings
The team that finished fifth last season was able to acquire fresh legs to help boost their hope of qualifying to FUFA Women Super League. Key among these names are ; undisputable goal poacher Vicky Veronica Ajwang from Masindi based Lady doves FC who will provide boost in the attacking department that shall see the club being led by the attacking trio of Brenda Apio aka Ramsey, last season’s club top scorer Joan Adongo and new entrant Vicky Veronica Ajwang.
Other new players brought into the team includes Vicky Akullu a midfielder from Maruzi Seed Secondary School and Aloyo Vicky who has been with the team but didn’t feature for the team last season.
