Golf: Bagalana Gets in Nsubuga’s reaches as Cwinyaai Shines on Day Three

The 82nd Uganda golf open faces tough competition after day 3 with Ibrahim Bagalana closing the gap by 3 strokes.

Bagalana scored 3 under (69) to finish second behind Joseph Cwinyaai who finished with 68 strokes to win the third round.

On day 3 Cwinyaai managed 12 par at Hole 1,3,4,6,7,10,11,12,14,17, and 18.
He also faced 1 Bogey at hole number 13 with the remaining 5 holes resulted Birdie (2,5,9,15,16)

“I am happy for the round,I enjoyed it with fellow players, we have been laughing on course, helping each other.
Therefore the leader is there for us we are enjoying cheering him” 

Ibrahim Bagalana followed with 13 pars on 1,2,3,5,7,9,10,12,14,15,17 and 18, as Cwinyaai he also struck by 1 Bogey and scoring Birdies at 6,8,13 and 16.

“At hole 5 after puting the ball out of the bound, I told my fellow players that this is an eye opener, from there I got into a condition of not wanting any out ball, I am proud that I saved the par” 

It was just a fair day for Day 1 and 2 winner Nsubiga to maintain his 10 under after finishing at 72 par.

4 Bogeys put the man in stiff situation to do more than maintaining his previous two rounds, the Bogeys came on hole 1, 6,7 and 17. 

Nsubuga saved his game by getting birdies on hole 3,5,8 and 13 while balancing pars at hole 2,4,9,10,12,14,15,16 and 18.
It has been a very long round, it has been hard for me but am happy to return to level par. 

“My putting was not ok but I am going to revise where did bad, I know what exactly to do and where to improve”

Nsubuga is leading the open with a total gross of 206 followed by Bagalana on 209 ahead of Cwinyaai’s 212.

Mike Tumusiime is 4th totaling 219.
By the end of Second round Nsubuga was leading by 6 strokes which is reduced to 3 by Bagalana on day 3 Cwinyaai is 3 under with 4 strokes behind second placed Bagalana.
