Kayunga By-election: NUP Sets Date to Nominate Ffefeka Replacement
The National Unity Platform Election Management Committee has on Monday 18th, October 2021 set a date when they are to nominate the party flag bearer for the Kayunga District Chairperson LC5 by elections.
For starters, the Kayunga District elected Chairperson LC5, Muhammad Sserubogo Ffefeka died in June this year immediately after resuming office and Joel Kayiira, also a National Unity Platform die hard was announced as Interim Chairperson.
The Committee invited the final candidates for Kayunga District Chairperson LC5 position vetting slated for 22, October, 2021 at the party headquarters in Kamwokya-Kampala.
Candidates were requested to go with their original National Identity Cards, Academic documents, membership card and the list of 600 voters.
Mercy Walukamba is the Chairperson NUP Election Management Committee.
A number of National Unity Platform diehards are in need to replace their fallen comrade.
Harriet Nakwedde, former Kayunga District Woman MP Aspirant, Former Bbaale Constituency MP Aspirant, Denis Katongole and the interim Chairperson LC5, Joel Kayiira are the figures in tough contest for the flag.
The by-Election for Kayunga District set to be held before the end of December 2021.
The election of nakwedde as NUP Candidate is misguided and that will be NUP’s first loss in a Bye-election.
She wasted her chance when she won the MP seat and failed to guard her votes and to declare Hon Nantaba.
Like they did to DP , NRM is now sponsoring NUP weak candidates to pave way for NRM Victory. Nakwedde tarnished her image when she joined hands with Karangwa in a court battle with Hon Nantaba and now she has a debt of 120m/= as court fine which she cannont pay other than accepting to be used by NRM
secondly no woman will vote a fellow woman in a race where there are men and women are the majority.
