Grassroot Football: Mukono DFA Sets Pace, Launches Five-Year Strategic Plan With It’s Budget
The leadership of Mahadi Gadaffi Kivumbi, the current chairman started putting things right at the FA.
On Sunday, 12 September 2021, the FA had held an Extra Ordinary General Assembly at Gilgaby Hotel Seeta-Mukono where they approved the Association’s five-year Strategic Plan as well as the budget for 2021/22 calendar.
The Five year strategic plan sits on five core issues, that is; Governance, Administration, Marketing and Communication, Infrastructure and Technical Development.
Under Marketing and Communication, the FAs executive asked the clubs to brand themselves because it’s the only way they will attract Sponsors.
Their mission is to be the leading football district, on and off the pitch, in doing so, they have Introduced Women football league and according to In charge of women football at the executive, Hope Atuhaire, they have already registered six clubs for this season.
The Association will also have other leagues apart from the fourth and fifth division, the likes of Oldies league, junior’s league.
The FA is also willing to support the Clubs especially with balls and to increase on the prizes.
“When we were campaigning, we told people that we have come to work, we have come to put Mukono on top, we have come to put things straight, we didn’t come for conflicts but to work as a team. Now we have started and willing to do more.” Chairman Mukono DFA, Mahadi Gadaffi Kivumbi told this website.
Kivumbi and his executive plus working Committees vowed to grow the game in Mukono district and bringing sponsors on board is one of the core items.
Chairman Buganda Region where Mukono District subscribe to, Andrew Kaweesa, thanked the Mukono for setting pace where other districts will Copy from.
He asked the executive not to fight their subordinates, to give them a hear and not to stop them from speaking.
“This is a good gesture, you set pace and I believe others are going to copy from you, this is a good start to a successful Journey. ” Chairman Andrew thanked Mukono DFA .
” But be lenient to clubs, Covid situation has affected everyone and we on too we shall also be easy to you apart from the rules that don’t change.
Don’t stop people from speaking, let them speak what they want, listen to them, advise them, you will also pick good from what they say. Don’t block them. “
The guest of honor and the CEO of Uganda Premier League, Bernard Bainamani advised clubs to take their officials, players for covid vaccination because time will come when none will be allowed in the game when not vaccinated
“FUFA in conjunction with Ministry of Health put a system where all football stakeholders would go and vaccinate but people didn’t not go.
I advise clubs from all levels to vaccinate when the chance is still there because time will come when you will not be allowed to participate in the game when not vaccinated.”
The FA has Also approved a budget of 32,303,000/-.
