FWSL: ‘Escape From Pentagon Plan’ Works not For Makerere, Falls in Hands of She Maroons as Asubo Surrenders Points to Rines

The match day six of the FUFA Women Super League climaxed on Sunday morning with two fixtures where both the home sides registered victories.
She Maroons propelled to third position on the log following a convincing 3-0 victory against Makerere University while the 2-1 win at home against Asubo Ladies FC helped Rines SS to go above red zone at least with a difference of one point.
Jackie Adong’s second half brace and Lillian Kasuubo’s goal were enough for the warden girls to ‘arrest’ ‘Weewe’ representatives at Luzira on Sunday.
Lillian Kasuubo handed She Maroons a lead in the 62nd minute of second half.
Five minutes later, Jakie Adong doubled the lead for the home side, thanks to Justine Najjuko long range pass from the midfield.
In the 77th minute, Adong completed her brace with a long range strike.
The brace took Adong to a tally of four goals this season, two a drift the chart leader, Agnes Nabukenya if Kawempe Muslim LFC who has scored six in five games.
Lillian Kasuubo also has four goals this season.
The three collected points took She Maroons to 12 points placing them in the third position, only a point behind the two tied leaders, Kawempe Muslim and Kampala Queens.
Elsewhere ,Rines came from a goal down to beat Asubo Ladies FC 2-1 in match played at Kabaka Kyabaggu ‘stadium’ in Wakiso.
Evelyn Nassuna first handed Asubo Ladies a lead in the 22nd minute with a nice strike from the edge of the box, thanks to Sarah Nakuya’s world class pass but their celebrations were cut short by Nakato Nanyanzi long range free kick in the added minutes of first half.
Nakato sealed Rines’ first season victory with a penalty kick converted in the added minutes of the last stanza.
The win moved Rines SS from 10th to 8th position while Asubo dropped to 10th position still in red zone with four points.
